LADIES ROCK CAMP
April 5-7, 2013
For all the women who have said:
"I wish Girls Rock Camp was around when I was a kid!"

Watch the LRC showcase from 2012!

Read a great article about the LRC revolution!

A one-of-a-kind, three-day musical adventure, Ladies Rock Camp brings together women from different walks of life and all levels of musical experience. In one weekend, you get instrument instruction, songwriting lessons, band practice, workshops, and the opportunity to network with other lady rockers from the Twin Cities — all culminating in a showcase concert at a local music venue.  It's a weekend of bonding, getting out of your comfort zone, expanding your horizons and having a TON OF FUN in a safe and supportive environment.

If you've ever wanted to be in a band, if you've always wanted to learn an instrument or improve the skills you already have, if you'd like to have fun being creative with other women, then Ladies Rock Camp is for you.  Possible workshops will include Songwriting, Drum Circle, Guitar Maintenance 101, Recording Basics, Band Art/Merch, and more!  Guest artists will perform for you and answer your questions about the music business.  Form a band, write a song, and put on a concert- in just three days!

All the female teachers at LRC are professional, gigging musicians from the local Twin Cities music scene.  Coming from a variety of different rock, pop and alternative bands, these teachers have years of playing and teaching experience, as well as many stories to share about being a lady rocker.

People walk, bike and dance for good causes... why not ROCK for one?!?!  All proceeds from Ladies Rock Camp support She Rock She Rock and strengthen the sustainability of the organization's programs.

WHO
Any woman age 19+ can sign up for Ladies Rock Camp. NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY / ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME. You don’t have to bring your own instrument, but feel free to do so if you like.  She Rock She Rock welcomes campers who identify as female, trans, and gender non-conforming.

INSTRUMENT CHOICE
You can choose between drums, electric guitar, electric bass, keyboards and vocals!  We will have all necessary instruments at camp, so do not worry if you don't have one!  If possible, please make a second instrument selection on the registration form below.  We will make every attempt to honor your first instrument choice. Sometimes, in order to make sure that all bands have the necessary instrumentation, we may need to switch you to your second choice instrument. You can rest assured that you will be playing your first choice instrument unless you hear back from us. A confirmation e-mail will be send out two weeks prior to camp with your final instrument selection and any other information you may need to know.

All DRUMS, VOCALS, KEYBOARDS and BASS spots are currently filled up for three bands.  If we get enough interest and can possibly fill up a fourth band, we may open more drums & bass spots.  If you ONLY are interested in coming to LRC to play drums or bass, e-mail jenny@sherocksherock.com and we will put you on a waiting list if we get enough other instruments signed up to form another band.  If you are flexible, why not give guitar, vocals or keyboards a shot?  If you do this, you can still e-mail us to let us know that drums or bass is your first preference if the opportunity arises.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel after sending in your registration, please notify jenny@sherocksherock.com right away. If you choose to donate your tuition fee, you will be given a tax receipt. If you cancel anytime before March 1, you are entitled to a refund of half your tuition minus a $25 cancellation fee. If you cancel after March 1, you will not be issued a refund. In the event of medical emergency, credit for a future session may be available. Please note that absolutely no refunds will be issued after the start of the program.

COST

Basic Tuition: $295
Do you want to come to camp but can't afford the full tuition amount?  Contact jenny@sherocksherock.com- we have financial assistance options available, as well as a payment installment plan!
Can you afford to pay more?  She Rock She Rock will kindly accept your donation and issue you a tax deduction receipt for the difference, as we are a 501c3 non-profit organization!  More info here!

MEALS
Meals are not included in the tuition price.  The facility we will be at is within walking distance from many restaurants, coffee shops and cafes in downtown Hopkins.  Also, feel free to bring a bag lunch and snacks!

ACOUSTIC GUITARS
We think acoustic guitars are super cool, but we also strongly encourage women to step out of their comfort zone and try out the electric guitar!  If you'd like to try an electric, we've got one we can loan you for the duration of camp!  If you really, really, really want to play your acoustic- just make sure it has a pickup in it.  Otherwise you won't be able to hear it over the drummer in your band, and we generally don't have enough microphones to share with guitars.

REGISTER

You have the option of paying online with Paypal or mailing in a check. If you choose to send a check, please mail to She Rock She Rock, PO Box 16094, Minneapolis, MN 55416 and note that we must receive the check within three business days of your registration in order to hold your spot in the camp.
