Thank you for your interest in the Girls Rock ‘N’ Roll Retreat!
One of our goals is to make this program accessible to students of all economic levels. Our ability to offer a limited number of scholarships enables us to serve girls from lower income households. Applying for financial aid will neither increase nor decrease your chances of getting into this program.
The deadline for us to receive your financial aid forms is May 15, 2012.
Directions: Fill out the financial aid application below and press the 'submit form' button at the bottom of the page. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FILLED OUT THE MAIN REGISTRATION FORM AS WELL. We cannot process the financial aid form unless it is accompanied by the regular registration form.
ESSAY
Once both the registration form and financial aid application are completed, have your camper submit an essay via email to jenny@sherocksherock.com that answers two of the following questions. Please be as specific and detailed as possible:
* Who are some of the women that inspire you and how did you find out about them? (They do not need to be associated with music or be famous.)
* How do you think attending Girls Rock n Roll Retreat will affect you, your friends, family, and community? Or if you have attended before, how has it affected you?
* What would the world look like if there were equal representation of women in the media, music, movies, and other aspects of mainstream culture?
* What is an obstacle in your life that you have had to overcome and how did you deal with it? Or, how are you overcoming an obstacle in your current life?
Your application cannot be processed until we have received three items:
1. The financial aid application below.
2. The main registration form
3. The essay from your camper.
We will notify applicants via e-mail by June 1st, 2012 as to whether or not they have been awarded a scholarship.
