The idea for Girls Rock N Roll Retreat (G.R.R.R.) began in the summer of 2006 when Jenny Case and Amy VanPatten decided to start a girls rock camp in Minnesota. The seeds of the girls rock camp movement had already been laid in Portland, NYC and a few other cities across the country, and we knew it was time for MN to join forces with them! With the help of Carol Langer, Karen Gustafson, Rebekka Fisher and countless other women, the first Girls Rock N Roll Retreat was held in the summer of 2007 at the Perpich Center For Arts Education in Golden Valley, MN (an inner ring suburb of Minneapolis). We're now getting ready for our sixth summer of ROCK!!!

In 2009, Edie Baumgart, Karen Gustafson and Jenny Case founded the 501(c)3 non-profit organization, She Rock She Rock.  She Rock2 is now the home to Girls Rock n Roll Retreat, as well as Ladies Rock Camp, Bi-Monthly Jams and all our year-round classes for girls and women.  Our vision is to help change the stereotypes of women in the music industry and in society in general and to help girls and women increase their self-confidence, take pride in work well done, ask for what they want, and gain tools that will help them to achieve their dreams.
